Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, Rupert Grint

At the very beginning, let me immediately rate this British comedy as genius! Sophisticated humor, unpredictable turn of events, fun characters seemingly incompatible, but in fact perfectly matched… 10/10 in every segment!

What will hold attention (at least it did for me) is above all a carefully realized scenario. The chemistry between Nighy and E.Blunt is superbly played, where we initially see them in a fight due to the total opposite of their characters, and later that relationship grows into sympathy and mutual attraction.

Considering the level of acting that we are used to by the said duo, it was difficult and to be expected a bad title. That is actually my greatest pleasure – when I expect a lot from the actors, and I really get that from the film.

I mentioned earlier how E.Blunt surprises me more and more pleasantly from title to title. Whether it’s mystery/drama (‘Girl On The Train’ for example), sci-fi action (‘Edge Of Tomorrow’ or ‘Adjustment Bureau’), sci-fi horror (‘A Quiet Place’), the result is the same : charming and faultless.

And the masterful Bill Nighy? Which role to mention, from his 70+ films? Victor from ‘Underworld’? Davy Jones from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’? Or as Gideon, in a title 3 years older than this, where we also had the opportunity to see him with E. Blunt.

The ‘ultimate killing machine’, as his colleagues called him, is actually hitman no. 1 – a hired killer, cold-blooded, insensitive, infallible!

Now, it’s not the unfortunate man’s fault that he got a childish, charming (read: manipulative) kleptomaniac as his next target, perfectly described as a ‘wild target’ as the title itself says 🙂.

He could not have predicted, and neither could we as viewers, that he would become emotionally and morally enlightened, and instead of killing her, he would decide to protect her, which is why he would become a target himself.

He also couldn’t have guessed that during that ‘rescue mission’ he would connect with her, despite the difference in age and temperament, and fall in love…

…and in the end like any normal couple – kill the competition, bury them in the family garden and live happily ever after 💪.
